My name is Staff Sergeant Michael T. Wiggins Sr. and I am in the United States Army. I am an U.S. Army Recruiter in Valdosta, GA.
Before I became an Army Recruiter in September 2002, in July 2002, I decided to design a replica NASCAR. I designed pictures of it on my computer to
find the color scheme that I liked and would be a" show stopper". I picked the number 79 because after researching the Internet I could not find anyone in NASCAR who had the number 79. I also picked 79 because this is the Military Occupational Specialty for an Army Recruiter. I searched the Internet
for two months to find the right car for the project. I bought a 1989 Ford Thunderbird LX. I then went online to ATLANTA AUTO ACCESSORIES in Atlanta, GA and purchased the Ground Effects from RAZZI. I had WEBB GRAPHIX & LETTERING in Valdosta, GA to print the large numbers on the Door, the "Army of
One" Star on the hood, the goarmy.com for the rear panels, Mike Wiggins Sr. on the top of the door, and the number 79 for the right/rear lights. I purchased all the little stickers (where NASCAR puts their sponsor stickers) at Fort Benning in Columbus, GA. I had RUSSELL BROWN RACE CAR in Valdosta,
GA to build the NASCAR rear Spoiler for the car. I had SPRAYGLO in Valdosta, GA do all the bodywork and paint the car for me. SPRAYGLO had the car ready for me to be picked up on November 11, 2002 (Veteran's Day).
NASCAR is one of this country's largest spectator sports and I thought it would be fun driving the car around while Recruiting and representing the U.S. Army. The kids love it and I get a lot of "thumbs up" from adults as well.
